Asia Project Partners is a Sydney and Tokyo-based consultancy service founded in 1994 to assist companies to enter and succeed in Asian markets. Our partners and associates have lived in Asia for long periods of time and offer on-the-ground experience plus valuable contacts in government and industry in key Asian countries.
Abe is a consultant to companies in a range of industries, providing strategic advice at boardroom and senior management level. Abe had 17 years experience of working in the construction and metalworking industries in Australia and Southeast Asia, gaining first-hand knowledge of business, management and labour issues facing companies in the region. He draws on his workforce experience to present lecture/workshop programs to educate company employees about industry trends globally and nationally. In 1989 Abe co-authored (with Associate Professor Ted Wheelwright) The Third Wave - Australia and Asian Capitalism. He has been a guest speaker on Asia at numerous industry forums.
His working life in Asia has included a 2 1/2 -year period in Vietnam. For nine years he was national secretary of the Australia -Vietnam Society facilitating people to people contacts between the two countries. Chris heads a research and analysis group providing advice on issues including market development, politics and government and competitive intelligence.
Hajime holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan; Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Western Australia and a PhD from the University of New South Wales. He wrote Japanese Business Unionism (1992, IRRC, UNSW). From 1976 to 1984 Hajime was the deputy secretary of the Japan Federation of Construction Engineers' Unions.
He has completed post-graduate studies on employment and labour law issues in South East Asia and published material concerning Indonesian labour law. His current practice involves advice on industrial relations, employment and discrimination law.
John spent 10 years in Asia in the boom years of the late 1970s and early 1980s
working to promote a highly successful food product range. Thereafter from an
Australian base he has continued to build strong relationships with food suppliers
and distributors throughout the Asian region.
